We would like to share with you our Learning Agreement for the week ahead (week 5).
The learning agreement is not a checklist, rather it is a range of provocations that we have designed to allow the children to explore our current Inquiry questions and understandings using the many forms of expression. Some of the provocations do change throughout the week depending on the children's responses and engagement with them.
The children are not expected to complete all of the tasks on the learning agreement but we do encourage them to explore a range of the possibilities and ensure they complete tasks that they begin.
In the future, we will be moving toward having individual learning agreements so that the students can monitor and take greater responsibility for their own learning, and so that teachers can also track student choices. The learning agreement is supported by workshops throughout the week that develop key understandings, as well as target teaching. We also embed opportunities for the children to give feedback on the provocations, and to reflect on their choices and their success with a learning experience.
Our current Inquiry questions and understandings are:
What different kinds of experiences and objects can make
us wonder?
What do we do with our wonderings?
Where do we get most of our
information about the world?
What is news-worthy to Year Twos?
What is the purpose of newspapers?
What are YOU most interested in/what is
important to you?
