Place Value is a key concept that students need to develop in order to support future computation.
Students need many contexts to develop their place value understanding. In explicit maths workshops and targets, students practise making, naming, recording and ordering numbers in the hundreds and beyond. They are learning how to rename 10 ones for 1 ten and 10 tens for 1 hundred (and beyond) with various materials.
