New Morning Routine

Dear Parents,

We are going to commence a new morning routine in the Year 2 Neighbourhood to ensure that the neighbourhood and the children begin their day calm and ready to learn.

We will open the doors at 8.45am and there will be various activities set up around the neighbourhood. The children will put their bag away, place any notices or lunch orders in the tubs and then they must go to their roll list and tick their name off to show that they have arrived (we will have monitors to support this process). A teacher will be crosschecking this list when they mark the roll after 9am.

Once the child has signed in, they can select an activity to engage with. Eventually they will sign up for an activity for the whole week but to begin we will be flexible about their choices. Children are expected to stay in the neighbourhood after signing in.

During this time, teachers will be supporting the children with the activities and other morning routines but parents are able to talk to teachers after school or make an appointment.

We hope that this morning routine will create an orderly and engaging environment for the children and that it will support the transition into the next learning session. We will be seeking feedback from the children and teachers involved to see how we can further create a fun and calm morning environment.

Thank you for your support.
